We already knew that music maestro A.R. Rahman was one busy man; between his Bollywood career and international commitments, there’s not much time left for the Slumdog Millionaire composer to take on new projects. But according to the latest buzz in B-town, A.R. Rahman has been so occupied by his international obligations lately that his Bollywood projects have suffered.

According to Hindustan Times.com, the famous music maker has to choose between his work in the East and the West and it looks like the East will have to wait for now as Rahman has no other choice but to focus wholeheartedly on his career abroad.
“The Indian assignments after Slumdog Millioniare have been very time-consuming, especially Raavan where Rahman not only had to do two versions of the music in Hindi and Tamil, but director Mani Ratnam also asked him to give three to four tunes for every lyric before one was selected. The music of Raavan took more time than Rahman could afford, with the result that other Indian assignments primarily Abbas Tyrewala’s untitled John Abraham – Pakhi starrer got left behind,” a source said according to Hindustan Times.com.
So how serious is it? Will A.R. Rahman be able to finish his work on Abbas Tyrewala’s new movie that he is currently working on in Chennai? The film has already been delayed due to the composer’s concerts across the globe and now rumors have it the movie could be further delayed.
“Rahman had to continuously keep breaking his international tours and other projects to be home for various reasons, like the music release of Raavan and other things. He has begun to feel that his international career would never take off if he has to keep returning home,”
