Chetan Bhagat’s novels have already been made into successful movies earlier with like Hello (”One Night At The Call Centre”) and 3 Idiots (”5 Point Someone”). However, Bhagat was not so keen into personal involvement in both these flicks but since Siddhartha Anand’s ‘2 States’, a film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s book, based on his own real-life experience, of a Punjabi boy who wants to marry his Tamil sweetheart but only with the consent of both their parents, is closer to his heart, he is taking keen interest in the film.
Saif Ali Khan has been chosen to play the lead and the actor plans to spend time with Chetan Bhagat to understand his character, Krish, and get into Krish’s mind. Says Bhagat on the film, “It is not important for Krish to be played by a Punjabi or Ananya to be played by a Tamilian. I’m aware Saif is not a Punjabi. To me that serves the story’s purpose even better. The whole idea of 2 States is to convey a pan-India appeal. The novel is about an inter-state union. What better way to show this than to have a non-Punjabi actor playing my Punjabi protagonist?”
Bhagat admits that 2 States is his most personal novel to date and the screen adaptation most precious to him. “Like Krish in my novel I fell in love with a Tamil girl and we decided to marry only with the parents’ consent. In the film Ek Duuje Ke Liye when the Tamil boy decides to marry the Punjabi girl, their parents slap and beat up their respective offsprings. Aaj ke din kaun bachche maar khayenge? (Which children will submit to that today?) So you could say 2 States is like Ek Duuje Ke Liye meeting Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge,” he says.

Bollywood actress Gul Panag experienced sumthing very horrible recently. Thanks to the Delhi Marathon 2010, which took place on Sunday, 21st November.
At the event, Gul was one among the participants. she was groped by the men standing at the starting point. They took advantage of the crowd to feel her up and the actress was obviously quite taken aback by the whole indecent act.
Since there was pushing and shoving going on, Gul couldn’t spot exactly who the gropers were.
“It’s the women-in-crowded-place syndrome and typical of Delhi – grope,” Gul is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
Inspite of all this, Gul didn’t back out of the event and completed the marathon in 2 hours 20 minutes. She also did not file any police complaint since she had no idea who had misbehaved with her.
Gul said she has participated in other marathons as well, but this has happened to her for the first time, that too in Delhi.

Salman Khan was present at the special screening of Guzaarish. He attended it not because of Aish but for good friend Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He not only attended the screening, but also invited a lot of people to the event.
Buzz is that Bhansali, who is very fond of Salman, willingly sent the actor a print of Guzaarish. He wanted to know what Salman thought of the film.
Besides the entire Khan family, a lot of people from the industry were also spotted at the movie’s screening.
Though Salman is reported to have liked the movie a lot, he’s avoiding to make a statement in the media because of Ash’s association with the film that stars Hrithik Roshan in the lead role.

We love when Bollywood focuses on charity work and Rani Mukherjee did just that on Thursday as she handed the coveted award to the Dalai Lama in honor of his work to promote human rights in Tiber and elsewhere, as well as inter-religious dialogue.
This is not the first time the Dalai Lama rubs elbows with Hollywood or Bollywood celebrities. Earlier in January, Richard Gere’s spirituality took him to India where he prayed with fellow Buddhists alongside the Tibetan spiritual leader.
